Hamburgers

grilled

Ingredients

  • 2lbs ground beef
  • 1tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2tsp pure chile powder
  • 1/2tsp light brown sugar
  • 1/2tsp granulated garlic
  • 1/4tsp celery seed
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/8tsp freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

Mix the spices together in a bowl and set aside.

Divide the ground beef into six balls. Roll them in your hands to make them a little stickier, then flatten them into patties on a plate. Press a shallow area into the center of each patty (this prevents them from becoming football-shaped during grilling). Rub both sides of each patty with the spices.

Grill for about 5 minutes over direct high heat. I grill the burgers for 1 minute on each side with the lid off and then for 1 1/2 minutes on each side with the lid on. (If adding cheese, do that after flipping them for the last time, during the last 1 1/2 minutes.)

After grilling the hamburgers, place the buns on the grill, flipping frequently to toast them.

Servings: 6 hamburgers
